The Kennet Crayfish Company

Berkshire-based purveyors of the Finest UK Chalk Stream Crayfish.

Trapped by hand exclusively along the River Kennet these crayfish are from the gin-clear, nutrient rich waters of some of the worlds only chalk streams. This gives the crayfish their unique and delicious taste.

From humble beginnings The Kennet Crayfish Company has grown swiftly into the largest supplier of wild caught UK signal crayfish in this country. Their aim as a company is to promote (via delicious food-based products) an increased awareness of the plight of British waterways to highlight their protection for future generations.

Kennet Crayfish is a finalist in the main category “Food Producer of the Year” at the BBC Food & Farming Awards 2024 and their products are used by multiple Michelin starred restaurants.  Andrew Leech, owner of The Kennet Crayfish Company has recently appeared on BBC Radio Berkshire and BBC South Today discussing the environmental benefits of his ethically sourced crayfish.
